PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Nzo 001 x 8 is a high-purity, premium-grade polystyrene cation resin. Nzo 001 x 8 is a high-capacity, sulfonated gel-structured resin supplied in sodium form as moist, tough, uniform spherical beads.
Applications include:
- Water Softening
- De-alkalisation
- De-mineralisation
Storage
Nzo Resins require proper care at all times. Please ensure that the resin remains in a wet condition and does not dry out. The resin should be stored in a shaded area, and the ideal storage temperature is between 20°C and 40°C.
Packing
Nzo Resins are supplied in polyethylene-lined HDPE bags of 25 liters.

Installation Guide: NZO-001 x 8 - Water Softener Resin
1. Preparation
- Tools Required: Funnel, clean water, and a bucket.
- Ensure the water softener system is turned off and depressurized before beginning.
2. Resin Removal (If Replacing Old Resin)
- Disconnect the softener from the water supply.
- Open the resin tank and carefully remove the old resin using a wet vacuum or by emptying it manually.
- Rinse the tank thoroughly to remove any debris.
3. Resin Loading
- Use a funnel to pour the NZO-001 x 8 resin into the tank.
- Fill the tank up to the recommended level, leaving space for backwashing.
- Top up the tank with clean water to ensure the resin is fully hydrated.
4. System Setup
- Reattach the resin tank to the softener system.
- Reconnect the water supply and check for leaks.
5. Backwashing
- Initiate the system’s backwash cycle to remove any fines (small particles) from the resin.
- Let the backwash cycle run until the water runs clear.
6. Regeneration
- Add the appropriate amount of salt to the brine tank.
- Start the regeneration process according to the softener’s manual.
- The resin is now ready for use.
7. Regular Maintenance
- Check the resin tank every 6–12 months to ensure proper performance.
- Avoid exposing the resin to temperatures above 120°C or allowing it to dry out.
